O/D light flashing Sun, 16 October 2005 13:00 Go to next message
The 1GGTE auto converted manual project is almost completed, will post up some pics soon.

I installed the GA70 dash and digi meter into my RA, All I did for the auto gearbox wires is that I bridged the neutral wires at the round socket near the firewall and hooked up the reverse sensor wires.
When I start the car up everything's fine, but after the car moves, the O/D light will keep on flashing until I shut off. So I double checked the wires at the auto shifter, if I bridge the OD switch wires, it is OD off and the meter indicator will be on. So I was right to leave it out.
Not a biggy though coz the engine is running fine, but it is a bit annoying. Any idea what is wrong? How I can fix it?
Thank you.

I have modified and installed the speedo cable from the manual gearbox to the speed sensor behind the dash meter, and the speedometer is working. Is there another speed sensor somewhere? Perhaps another signal from inside the auto gearbox to the ECU?
I was thinking about removing the bulb but just wanna make sure there is no future problem arising by doing so.
Thank you for your replies.

I'm not sure about this so you will have to check, but I think the auto box would of had an electronic speed sensor.

I'm with LAA.80E... rip the bulb out. It's the ECU telling you it can't see the auto box anymore. Happened on my Soarer when I converted to manual. Everything ran perfectly. I eventually replaced the ECU with a PowerFC, but that isn't exactly an option for you.

could be problem with your transmission's ecu

or something you can reset on the box itself like a wire for the selector etc etc... try changing out the transmission's ecu and see if it does the same thing
