4agze compression test results?

These engines came in 4gens with the 8.0:1 being gen1&2 (aw11 and early ae92) and the later were 8.9:1.
My question is when you compression test the 8.9:1 what kind of results would you be expecting.
Mine comp tested at 140, a friends at 150. Im under the impression that the highest result from a compression test of an 8.9:1 compression would be perhaps 160 (brand new?)
I need to know because I went to checkout a prospective engine purchase (guy saying its an ae92 4agze) and it had 175 at all 4 cylinders... Is this actually possible?
Its my opinion someone has changed up headgaskets or possibly even shaven the head on him before he bought it... either that or they just plane sold him a 4age 100kw. I dont see a 4agze with 8.9:1 getting 175. Thats more intune with a 4age.

Don't get too stuck on the actual numbers, unless they are all stupidly low, all you're looking for is consistency. There are a lot of variables involved, like engine temperature etc.

Im getting stuck on numbers because theres really no other way for me to identify whether its a 4age or 4agze. And I need to buy something fairly quickly.
Unless ofcourse someone has a database of all 4agze engine numbers

I'd pop the sump off and have a look at the bottom of the pistons. That's the easiest way to be sure..

Also wont the engine numbers on the block tell you?
With comp tests different testers will give back different results. You are looking for the same all across the four cylinders.
For example when I had my old SR20det rebuilt it was comp tested at 110 110 110 110. But they are suppose to have 160psi in all 4 cylinders when new. Just depends on what is used to do the test.

Engine numbers are 4A XXXXXXX across the 4a range.
And as for taking out the sump. Its running on his daily car.
