To supra or not to supra? Tue, 11 October 2005 08:18 Go to next message
HI all,

I got an 82 celica, and am looking at selling it and buying an 85 mk2 supra. I know the australian supras got the 5me, but i assume its got more guts than my 21ru..But how much more?? anyone ever driven both?

I love the look of the supra, but all the pics i see are from a low angle, does anyone know if it looks cool from a normal angle?

Any help would be great.

Thanks, andy

Buy the Supra, then put a real engine in it. You'll never look back.

That would convert anyone!

I love MA61's, the only thing holding me back was the 5M. Just after I bought the MX83, an MA61 with a 7MGE popped up in the local rag for $4g I think it was Sad

owned

I dunno if i would...i considered the same move as u are, tho imo it isn't a lot of an upgrade in terms of performance, but they sure look a lot nicer with the longer bonnet, flares etc.

That dark blue one looks hawt!

I disagree. An MA61 will outperform an RA60 in all aspects. Sure the MA61 is still pretty slow acceleration-wise but that's only part of the picture when you're talking about "performance".

Doooo eeeet!!!

From going to an MA61 from an ra60, then back to the ra60..... I cannot wait for my next MA61.

You wont be disappointed, just make sure you plan for an engine swap post haste... minimum requirements = 5mge Very Happy

Cheers,
James

And minimum - 5M-GE if you don't mind my integra beating you. Razz

Get a 7M-GE/1JZ-GTE. Smile Then you wont have to explain to anyone how a FWD Honda beat your mighty MA61. Smile

5M-E's also drink like a fish, I'm not sure how the 21RU goes on Fuel, but the 5M-E likes to guzzle. But it's got IRS Smile

I hear 5M-GEs don't drink as much (while providing more power).

Anyway teh poo brown supra = the poo coloured supra

And I found out what happend (I actualy already knew it turns out)...

And now...

*Punches James in the face* that's what you get!

I can concur with Alchemist that the 5M Drinks like a fish... Check out my past posts in regards to the 5ME. 5MGE would go better and be more fuel economical. Currently my 5ME drank me out of house and home...

Cheers.
