Does anyone know where to find patch plates for rust repair on a 1983 sprinter?

wat u mean patch plates?
when i rebuilt the rear end of my ke70 which had numerous holes all around, i just got some 2.5mm galvanised sheets, cut them approximately to the whole of rust i had cut out and bash them with a hammer into the right shape, mig weld them in, then body fill over them.....few hundred hours of attention to detail and no-one would ever know. dont know if it will help, but thats my story

Daniel (AEeightysix) just cut some plates out of steel and got them welded in then grinded them back and bogged. if you had an old front guard or something lying around you could use that and it may help you get a good fit as you should be able to get bits already curved from it.
