so the other day, as i wasnt used to drive my car for a while (was driving a new astra) i took a round about a lil too fast and smacked into the gutter. I bent some rod may be called pinnon or something i have no idea, it just joins up to brackets and then goes up the car its not the diff! (i think) ... anyways! after fixing all, that i noticed my fuel tank had a huge wet spot underneath it and a dent and harsh scratch's on the bottom. The leak seemed to have come from the side. I dont think it leaks terribly just drips slowly but still dont want to have it around.... so how can i fix it? and can i do it myself? any help is appreciated
the smart thing to do would be to take out your fuel tank (usually 2 straps a big line and a few 6mm or so lines)
not too hard.
take it out and have a good look.
dont be a tool and try and weld it and blow yourself up, i think the proper way to do it is to fill the tank up with water and then weld it from there.
of course if its a common car your local pick-and-pay is a good idea
You could also use a Devcon product which will patch it up if is is only small. People use it for that and oil sumps etc etc. NIce and quick easy way. Cost about $10.
eh im not too worried bout my injectors as i dont have any carbie all the way baby im jsut hoping that i dont blow myself up changin it and if its jsut a line thats leaking
