i didnt realise these things wear out.Should be easy to get.So its 7MGE [standard cressida engine] with A340E [standard trans] torque converter to suit.Do you have the drive plate and ring gear that bolts to the converter? [what the starter motor engages to]
Although these items may be valuable as a genuine replacement part, the gearboxes have sold for $50 on this site so the part should be a $20 item provided the seller doesnt hasve to get their hands dirty or post etc.So be prepared to pick up and look for one in the closest toyota wrecker.pm Southo if you get stuck.a very helpful and knowledgable sydney cressida driver.
good luck with it. Smile

Hey,

Yeah its 100% stock atm.

The converter in the car is making a bad noise(rattle)

I've been qouted $200 + labour for a reco. But i don't see the point paying that money...

I could of got a A340 from a gte with converter for a $100 more that had 48,000 km on it... stupid me...

Mate if that $200 includes the labour to pull it out then pay it.

Those things are furgin heavy and it's a lot of stuffing around.
