That's a ST165 engine alright but there's nothing Group A about it i'm afraid...someone has been telling you porkies. It's just your standard ST165 engine but it does have extraordinarily low km's if that number is accurate....you would be hard pressed to get a Gen III from an ST205 with those km these days. It does look to be clean and in good nick, good luck with the sale but me thinks you are a tad high in price for a 1st gen 3SGTE.

doesnt water to air intercooler indicate group A?
Looking at the engine and oil condition and paint condition etc, i have no reason to believe that the k's on it are innacurate.

As Gabe says all 165 have a/w ICs.
The GrpA a/w are from the ST185 and ST205. These engines have a few differences over the a/a versions for their competition homologation. Their a/w IC are much much larger and are a performance mod rather than just a packaging issue as per the 165.
Definitely good km's....amazing actually.

ok so now i feel like a foooooool
my bad i thought all water to air through the range of GT4's meant Group A. Assumption is the mutha of all fuckups!!!!!!!
So what differences does a group A 165 have to a standard 165? Hang on is there even a group A version in the 165 GT4's? Or just one model 165 GT4?
The guy didnt say group A i just assumed coz it had water to air it was. Ahh well
