hey folks, im just wondering what gen of 3sge would be best in a ke70? im thinkin that gen 2 or 3 would be my best bet, however atm i have been offered a good price on gen 1 and am wondering whether the upgrade would be worth it. does a gen 1 have more power than a 4age?
by best im thinking along the lines of lower cost, good power and reliability. i would go gte but dad wont let me and insurance would bend over some im lookin for a good NA engine, if not the 3s wat mite u recomend?
i am thinkin a 3s because i have a s-w bell housing to go with a w-57 i am lookin at.
so any thoughts guys?
thanx

3sge definetly more ballsy then the 4age, you'll appreciate the extra torque offered from the 2.0 litre and not have to rev the guts out as much to get anywhere fast.

As you work through the gens each one increases in price, and has more power out of the box that the previous gen.
as all are the same block they should all have the same compatibility with gearboxes, so all should fit the housing you have.
I personally would go with the latest gen possible because they go harder, parts are newer so hopefully shouldnt give you as much headaches, or need a rebuild as soon as you drop it in

from what ive been told u can mod the ke70 crossmember to serve the purpose for the 3s, and i can get a w to s bellhousing for a w 57 box, and i have a diff and drive train that will work and fit
what problems will i run into
im now searchin for wat u sed to ..ah hear it is
thanx guys

it is alittle more complicated than mounting it north south and getting a gearbox. if it wasn't i would have one in my corolla

ive had a quick look at joels site, do i need to do all the sump mods to fit it into a ke70?
and if i can mount it far enough forward i should be able to use the original water from the head rite?
