F series measurement? Tue, 01 November 2005 05:34 Go to next message
could someone please take a measurement for me? im after the length of a F series diff center, from the flange face to the mounting point of the axle housing. should be able to easily do it with the center in or out of the diff housing.
sorry if this isnt clear.

This might not be of particular use to you, but from memory it was 19mm longer than a T series diff. I think I still have the comparative specs written down somewhere at home, I needed them when I converted from T to F series in my car to shorten the tailshaft by the correct amount Smile Will check.

Cheers
Phil

TE72_Turbo... Did you look into the possibility of another rear section of tailshaft from another car? I'll be on this as well.

Evo How close is the E rear to fitting?

MX62 Auto One piece shaft length 1355mm
MX73 Auto Two piece shaft length (Front = 653mm, Rear = 802mm)
SA63 Manual (W55) Two piece shaft length 1405mm (Front = )
RA65/MA61 Manual (W58) Two piece shaft length (Front = 610mm, Rear = )
RA65/MA61 Auto Two piece shaft length (Front = 530mm, Rear = )

This may help you somewhat, as you can see I didn't get around to recording some of the values...I would love to be able to add more to this list however.

Cheers

My F series is from an MX13 corona. I initially used a shortened T18 rear section with the T50 gearbox, then a shortened corona tailshaft (RT104?) with the W55.

I'm sorry, I can't find my notes from when I shortened the tailshaft Crying or Very Sad

if you PM Brett_celicacoupe on the new forums, he's just taken delivers of my ma61 diff centre, so it should be very easy for him to measure it for you (assuming he hasn't installed it yet)

draven,

it hasnt really got anything to do with the centre. its got to do with the distance between the tailshaft mounting flange and the flange bit where the centre carrier face meets the diff housing. also note that this is for a live axle F seires Wink

i should have pics and measurements up in an hour or so of both T and F Smile

cheers brett. as i mentioned on the other forum, 220mm is what i measured the E series to be. so by that logic, when i later get an F series i should be able to use my tailshaft, meaning i only have to mod it once.

its not often you have a win with things like this, so im very happy Very Happy
