hey guys,
i have read and done some research on K-50's,
now i was just wondering what cars these came in, im guessing the 5Spd KE55's and 5spd KE70's?
Are the KE70 ones identical to the KE55 ones or does it have a different bellhousing and crossmember?

Any help will be much appreciated

Cheers Trent

PS i read stewarts old corolla faq (great source of info)

yup, KE55 and KE70.

they have almost same front housing (inc bellhousing).
have different extension housing, different shifter position, and different reverse light switch positions. also different method of rear mount between them (but same as the 4 speed versions from those cars). you can just swap the extension housings over tho. no need to change shift rods as with the 4 speed versions.

K thru 5K (at least) have same bellhousing.

main differences ae the very very early smaller clutch (with smaller input shaft).... but not usually an issue.

K40 K50 and T50 are exactly the same length.

K50 from KE55 has same shifter position as KE20 manual.
K50 from KE70 has rearmost shifter position.

i took photos of KE10 auto and manual tunnels and they are slightly different, but not enough to worry about.
