Does anyone know if MA61 springs/shocks will work in an RT142? I'm pretty sure the rear will be similar enough (it's an IRS model) but I'm not so sure about the front.

Front struts on an RT142 are the same as the RA65 pretty sure.

here are the king spring part no's in case u havent got them
RT142 (sedan, IRS)
front; KTFS-26
rear; KTRS-48
MA61
fr; KTFS-31
rear; KTRS-27
part no.s arent the same but ther is chance that they will fit regardless. i guess you will need first hand experience of someone actually using the said bits.

I'm guessing that front MA61 springs will raise the front of an Rt142, as I have read that this is what happens if Ma61 springs are put into an xA6x celica. Makes sense; much heavier engine.

I suspect the front will work, but you will need the MA61 top spring hat, as MA61 springs have a larger dia at the top...

The diameter on those two are identical, the only problem being the ST141 tops are flat, while the MX73 are slightly curved so the holes dont line up. Also the spring rates and lengths seemed identical, which seems strange. You would think the heavier 5M would have stiffer springs.

i know for a fact that the rear of the MA61 will fit into an RT142 as that's wat i put in my car after a lovely spin into a gutter one wet night. As for the fronts i was under the impression that they were longer but then with all the info around these days who knows wat to believe.
cheers mike,

No. You can't link to pictures on your hard drive, they need to be hosted somewhere.

Jemery, charles says RT142's have different caliper bolt spacing as well compared to MA61 struts! Not sure if you knew that...
(is not 100m as R33 calipers...)...

is a shame no having the right caliper mounts
my photoshop work suggest the stub axle on the RT142 is 2.5 degrees better than the MA61

Nah I'm not attempting to put RT142 bits in an MA61. An RT142 owner is interested in buying my old springs/shocks and I want to know if they'll fit before I sell them to him.

The trailing arms fit but the whole subframe out of a mx73 wont fit a ma 61 , as the 73 is about 60 mm wider
