I did these a few years ago. The Iguana (pencil) I did when I was 14 and the WW2 Veteran (acrylic paint) was when I was 15.
I used to go to art classes after school and I actually came second in a show with the Iguana. Won $30...

I wouldn't call myself an artist anymore as I haven't really committed to it for a while now but..
You guys are pretty good.
some mistakes, but nothing I don't do as well. eg. a bit heavy on the outside lines
but overall pretty top effort especially for 15/16 year olds
(better than me)
I'll see if I can dig some old stuff up and I'll post that, maybe. keep on doing it tho coz you guys have talent.
What artists do you guys use for inspiration?

lots and lots and lots of lino prints....im sure most people would have done them in like year 7 with those crap brown squares. I had to go over three time to get the three colours, you can see in the middle where theres one colour, then two, and then three.
Lino prints suck now, that is all, ive had my time with them

love those evangelion pictures too, i never realised how much i used to look like gendo ikari i used to draw heaps of evangelion a few years back. made a few models too- eva unit 01, sachiel (first angel we did)
i have a heap of shit, being an art student (i hate art, because all the 'alternative' people are so contrived and fucking knobheads... etc...)but im crap. i'm failing something chronic now, and with 2 weeks til reviews im doing a semesters work.... on the topic of....
PREDATOR!
lol, coz its easy, and ive been drawing them since i was like 9.
so heres my latest piece (and the one im most happy with)
still needs the dreadlocks and paint, but here it is pre-fired.
its kinda crap though
LOL @ strongbad's trogdor, thats funi

thanks guys. i am happy with it, but the jaws are a bit disproportional and off centre- so im a bit about that... and i couldn't get the skin creases to my liking... so i'll just hve to paint it well...
but, i know thats the best i can do, and i was originally only going to do a masked version... so i guess i am happy with it.
it took me 25 hours tho.... and to be honest i am a little bit obssessed

Nice one Mr Foetus!
I studied sculpture for 4 years and that's the sort of standard that'll get you in to a Uni course. You should have a go with bronze or aluminium casting - it's awesome fun..
We also did 8 hours of life drawing a week.

Evil_Foetus the head looks great i don't think the mouth extends too much, thats what predator does when he growls! and don't the front 'teeth' extend sideways anyway, so having them slightly forward would be correct
Some great stuff here people!
Im coming up to my graduating exhibition for my Bachelor of visiual arts, I'm majoring in printmaking. Here's a few things i have done:
Linocut, 90x65cm
Hard ground etching, aquatint and chine colle half the size of an A4
Monoprint, A3 size
Im currently working on doing a screenprint of Eva Unit 1, its in 10 layers so its a lot of work

Hi guys,
Last summer i thought i'd have a dabble with a canvas. Didn't really know what to paint so i painted stuff i would see in my dreams...
I know i could've touched them up a lot but i personally don't think it's too bad considering i did it in about 3 hours?
I'll do heaps more when i have time in summer and probably try and get better photos.
Here's some random drawings i did on a serviette in 2002. I wish i didn't stop drawing. These were all done by freehand for a conceptual comic book i was going to make but it ended up in the bin (yes, all the originals) and all i have left are the photos from a primitive camera phone like the crap quality 86's.
I'm against straight off copying (just my personal stance) so i only managed to anime cutify it without losing too much proportion... i think ?
Evil_Foetus: Did you use an internal wire frame or is that a hunk of clay? Which clay do you use? and how are you going to put the dredds on him? I can't wait to see the final result, everything looks perfect, all you gotta do is paint her and make a mask and itll look hot as in a glass cabinet! I wish i had scupturing talent.
pjaw11sc: Can you make them into tshirts? I'll buy one Looks incredibly wicked.

Oh and also my Lord of the Rings map, imagine copying 4 paperback size sheets onto 4 A4 size sheets, then going over the whole thing in fineliner (including every fuggin tree and mountain), and then colouring the whole thing in... argh.. took me like 16 hours all up, and it's now on my wall permanently. I swore I'd never draw another little map-sized mountain ever again ahahha.
Keep in mind I had to scan each page separately then join them in photoshop, it all actually matches up perfectly when all the pages are together...

its a bit lump of clay over a super rough paper maquette. once i'd finished it i cut in it in half, hollowed it and joined it again.
dreads are probably just going to be rubber tubing, im buying this week sometime. might go with the glue gun. its only like my fourth shot at scuplting so it took me ages...
