Am I being ripped off?

Hi all,
About to buy a 1989 Corolla Seca SX.
The engine bay looks like this:
Is this a 100kw 4age? As far as I know, the SX's came standard with the 'redtop' 100kw engine.
Therefore, has the engine been replaced, or am I tripping?
Cheers,
DP

It doesn't seem to have the holes in the firewall for the factory strut brace either. Could be a CS/Csi converted to SX spec.

check the engine number off the build plate against the actual block number on the engine... ? if its been swapped they shouldnt match,
or grab the VIN and check against an EPC or your local toyota dealer and check what engine/config it had from factory.

It will be on the passenger side of the block at the front, they go vertically up/down. Right up near where the bellhousing bolts up.
The exhaust headers might get in the way of seeing it easily from above

Redtop refers to the letters on the oilcap side of the block, a bluetop has blue letters on 16 Valve, redtop has twincam and 16 Valve in red. Also the valley cover is authentic to 100kW, as it hides the plugs, rather than the plugs having long ends that plug into the top of the valley cover.
This is how the top of a bluetop 86/88kW looks:
