Here are some shots of Saturdays foray to AIR thanks to Alex-who also has been an integral part of getting this abomination up to this level of stupidity.....
Here's how it looked before the first run. There seemed to be some confusion among the ANDRA officials initially regarding the X-ply front/Radial ply rear combination. I suspect the confusion was because they had never seen that combo before. (by the way-that combo is fine, it's the other way that's dangerous)
Here's me warming up the BFG's at 5000rpm in overdrive (I had to wait till the smoke drifted past as I couldn't see the tree). It went 10.74 straight-up.
Looking down the strip prior to the last run, waiting for an oil-down to be cleaned up.
Warming up the new Hoosier 28X9 rubber for their maiden voyage.
The moment when the lights went green on the 10.456@136.28 run. The commode got multiple lengths head start whilst I tried to stall it up-but it didn't help him one little bit......
And finally, a picture of Alex's dinner from the track canteen to reinforce the position of AIR as a National Centre for Spelling and Grammatical Excellence. Who says we're not the 'Clever Country'?
And yes-I'm now officially 'booted' until I have a roll cage, licence, log book etc etc.

Damn nice work, I got down to the third pic or so and was thinking.....they must be pretty relaxed down in SA as it running 10's and no cage But then your last sentence cleared that up.
Unreal effort, how much quicker do you think she can go?

Sean,
I'm glad I cam on the night as it was awesome to see. The first run was pretty good, but the last one was fantastic.
Can't wait to see irt again next time when you are able to really launch it and the Hoosiers have had a heat cycle or two to really get sticky
Cheers

ANDRA and the Adelaide International Raceway in South Australia is proud to announce that the long running and immensely popular 4, 6 and Rotary Nationals will now feature the entire ANDRA Sport Compact class line up for 2006. February 25th and 26th will be the dates to lock in as Adelaide - the City of Churches goes into Hi Tech overdrive.
Spanning two days, the event will host some of Australias finest Sport Compact drag cars on the Saturday, before being transformed into a sea of show and shine vehicles on the Sunday. This historical SA event is set to move into a new era by aligning itself with the ANDRA Sport Compact classes. All 7 recognised classes will be offered, with some exciting promoter discretion categories as well.
The opportunity for the event to be run under the ANDRA rules has been an ongoing project between AIR and ANDRA, and the key people involved are very excited at the new event format.
This is a huge step forward for Sport Compact Drag Racing here in Australia, because now we have an event specifically designed to cater for the southern states. The long wait is over for South Australia, as big time Sport Compact drag racing is back in town, and set to rock AIR like never before.
I see this event as a new chapter in not only AIR history, but ANDRA as well. SA is steeped in Sport Compact Drag Racing greatness, and now theres a fantastic opportunity to showcase the hardcore Hi Tech race cars this state is renown for Jason OHalloran, ANDRA Sport Compact Director
Each year the 4, 6 & Rotary Nationals attracts big names from all over Australia. Now, with the addition of the ANDRA Sport Compact classes into this event, I believe that the 4, 6 & Rotary Nationals will become the Royal Show for Sport Compact Drag Racing - Anna Micheel, Adelaide International Raceway Manager
