My car will be getting a new exhaust tomorrow. It is a 96 Coralla with the 4afe engine. What size/setup of exhaust would be best for a stock/mild daily driver.

Also would the same exhaust be good for in a couple of years when I plan on doing the 4age 20v Very Happy swap?

Thanks

Kev

for a 4afe u should get a muffler with more than one chamber as single chambers tend to give the 4afe a very tinny sound.

2" or 2.5"
it wont need anything more unless you start looks at a LOT of boost or more displacement, and it'd just be wasted money

2.25" is the best compromise for an exhaust system for the 2 motors. Get a straight through muffler with good quality packing, and at least 2 hi-flow resonators. Don't get a baffled muffler as they are still semi-restrictive.

Thanks for the replies

I didn't end up getting it done last weekend, it is booked in for this sat.

A 2.25inch cat back system. $180 with a glass packed muffler. If I want to add a res or 2 they will be done for cost price. Very Happy
