look pretty good, i have seen nicer.

cant see the reason for all the swoopy pipes though, they aren't equal bend.

the oxy sensor in one primary would seriously block flow, and an oxygen sensor is totally useless in a racing car anyway. i dont even know if they are very useful in a street car, must compare my fuel economy with someone who has one.

some of the swoopy pipes look equal length. in fact they all look equal length.
the reason for the swoopiness is to get a longer primary pipe length within the engine bay.... it's easier to get 1 pipe under the car than 4 Shocked

O2 sensor... wideband...AFR targetting. narrow band do give better fuel economy if you are cruisig at part throttle for a long time. definitely.

then again, mine never had to correct more than about 5% due to the god tune i did Razz so at most i would get 5% better economy..

I was having a look at a set of headers from an A1 GP car last night and guess what? They run an oxygen sensor....

the Bosch LSU4 is a 6 wire is it not?

also that would make it wideband, as 5 wires and less are not wideband correct?

Hi,
Yes oxygen sensors are good! But they can lie to you if you have valve overlap (race car!), raw fuel can skew the readings badly.

Don't rely soley on the number of wires, though generally you need lots of wire to operate a wideband. Find out information about the sensor, there are several types.

There are two Bosch 'LSU4' sensors, LSU4.2 and LSU4.9. LSU4.9 is 'apparently' optimised for lean burn applications (not cars, but CNG where you can run at lambda 1.6 etc). They both have 6 wires but different plugs and work on petrol engines.

Regards, Nick

narrowband work on a 0-1.0volt, wideband work on a 0-5.0volt, narrowband basically work around very rich to very lean, whereas wideband can generate a voltage at a particular AF ratio, basically said!trying to tune with a narrowband is not possible, well not with any accuracy!!I'm sure someone will say they can.....I'd hate to see their fuel maps Laughing

There is a reason my Autronic wideband AF meter cost $2000 which is a lot more than those $100(or so) Jaycar narrowband AF meters!!

lack of competition Wink

there are a of kits and products based vaguely on the DIY-WB designs, but i'm hanging out for B&G's PWC...

the Motec Lambda meter is also pretty good (thanks Mr Shin Very Happy) (we were only 5% rich tuning with SOTP dyno and narrow band Razz )

ae86drift....haven't been around top equipment lately have you???? the Autronic /dyno dynamics etc etc is around $2000, unlike the cheap wideband analyzers, Autronic has temperature compensation etc etc, if you think those innovate ones do...think again Wink

oldcorollas a narrowband might work at the extremes of rich/lean BUT try tuning AF ratios in between.....not possible, if you say it is I know your full of shit!!! Rolling Eyes just look at the voltage vs AF curve for a narrowband Wink

ae86drift, a little advice if you wish to listen, don't try tuning with one of those cheap narrowband af meters and don't listen to those who say you can, they'll get it going no worries about that, but it won't be optimal, infact far from it.

there is nothing wrong with that equipment, the Autronic is OVERKILL for private tuning, but for a company that is tuning all the time the accuracy is nice, but be assured that what you want to buy will be no problem, just don't buy one of those Jaycar narrow band $60 kits, they are nice to have flashing lights in the car and that's about it!!
