FS: AE82 SOHC Seca CS-X whole or parts Sat, 05 November 2005 07:45 Go to next message
This car has served me well, but now after almost 400000kms i have had enough and it's time to say goodbye...

It was running fine until a couple of weeks ago when the timing belt slipped and now i suspect bent valves.

Has Kings super low springs and Gabriel gas struts (lowering the car by 52mm)

Selling whole - $400

Will part out - good doors and panels, good interior, everything under the hood is in good running condition except of course the head.

CS-X's are DOHC
CS's are SOHC

So tt's either a SOHC CS
or a DOHC CS-X
but it can't be a SOHC CS-X

lol free bump Wink

This is not true.

AE82 = 8 valve SOHC, except for the twin cam 4age

AE92 = 16 valve DOHC

In my many trips to the wreckers to get parts for my ae82 I have never seen one with a 4a-fc engine. All the CS-X models I have looked at had 4ac engines. They seem easy enough to swap in tho, would only be worth it if u had a dud 4ac. Have a look at this link to a toyota specification pamphlet for the ae82. Does not mention anything about a 16 valve engine apart from the TwinCam 4AGE. The ae92 was the first model to come out with the 4afc in australia.

$200 for suspension bits.

Yes, it is the 4A-C CS-X which is 8V SOHC Carby. Smile

I had my fuel consumption down to 5.5l/100km Shocked on the old donk with LRP and with less emission controls. One of the advantages of a 1985 corolla... Damn this ULP shite. Mad

Anyway, still thinking of just dropping in another engine. Anyone know wher I could get one cheap? Confused
