Jaycar has some funky ones. You could have a cover to a standard switch like this one:

Would be nice to go to Sema but how many people can justify the trip to vegas to go see a trade show?

checking out stewart warner as i write this... seema... well i wish... as for ebay... DUH!!! best i found there was some plastic 'chrome' extensions for the standard toggle switch and they were pretty darn long... millions of those missile arm covers around, and the knife switch... now that's original thinking... hahahaha... i like, not gonna be seen in my car though

True. It would be purely for aesthetic reasons I would imagine.
I have one toggle switch in my car and I went for the most sedate one possible that matched the surrounding trim.
Boating/marine outlets sell a switch or two and usually waterproof May be worth a look if there are some in your area.
I think that with the "fancy" switches like those pictured at the beginning of this thread one problem may be integrating them into the dash/console in a manner that makes them look like they are neat and meant to be there (if it's a neat look you are aiming for).
