Need to remove head from my 18rg RA40 to machine inlet side (corrosion pitting)inlet manifold won't seal! I believe they can be a bit tricky to install correctly. Cannot get a workshop manual. any idea's.
Also has anyone done a 1piece tail shaft conversion on a RA40 , don't like the cnt bearing for rally use!

theres not really any secrets apart from dont drop the little pin out of the cams into the front of the engine. probably easier to remove the head with the manifolds still on it. just remove the cams sprokets and pull it all out in one go.

Its as simple as People sez... cept i always remove the extractors first. There is no mention of a lash spacer in my 18RG manual... and ive read this thing cover to cover at least a dozen times, and have removed 18RG heads more than half a dozen. Just dont lose any of the bits at the end of the camshafts while your doing it, otherwise itll be time to remove the sump.
Cheers, Owen
