i already had a forum on my defects but wanted 2 say this about the lowering blocks.
"If lowering blocks are used, they must be steel or aluminium"
this is from the queensland transport departments website, so how can i be defected for my steel blocks,or can i get them approved??? helpful advice please

yeah lowering blocks are a weird thing. i would get them approved, or ring around some engineers and ask them, the cop may have just been pissed off and wanted to get you for anything, or not totally understand the rule. i also thought it had to do with load and age, but maybe not.

It depends on how tall the blocks are. The higher the block the chance of axle twist, which leads to the need for tramp bars (aka slapper bars) and from a safety side of things the suspension (leaves, u-bolts, tramp bars etc) should be above the rims.
From memory 2inches is the tallest blocks you can legally use. And it must be a one peice unit each side. You can't use two 1" blocks to make a 2" lowering block.
