3SGTE RA60 conversion

ok my mate has a RA60 celica and wants to put in a 3SGTE from a
GT4 Celica, his celica is an auto. we are just wondering how
hard this conversion would be considering its a FWD engine and
its going into a RWD car, would we be able to use the 3SGTE
gearbox or would the stock box fit, and also he wants to convert
it to manual is this just as simple as changing the gear box
and the pedals to the manual items?
cheers jason

oh dam, what makes it impossible? i think he is going to go
ahead and try the conversion so i will post the results in
this thread when he finally succeeds or fails,
what would another small 4cyl toyota engine be goo to put in it
as he doesent want to go to a 6cyl so he wont put a 1G-GTE in,
what about a 4AGZE?

If u wanna make a *A6* a RWD 3S monstah, you'd be best off starting with an SA63. It already has a S series engine in RWD configuration, so you have some of the bits required from the outset. You also get IRS with an SA63, and your mate could get a manual one, so the hardware from that is already there.
My recommendation is do some research. Search these forums. There is absolutely shitloads of information on 3S RWD conversions. Once you know everything you can, then make the assessment of whether you are up to the commitment.

A rule of thumb for conversions like this: if you have to ask, it's probably beyond your abilities. Maybe try something a bit easier to start with.
