gear box crunching

my mate own a ae92 seca and said his gear box is starting to crunch,
i had a look at it and the gearbox mount is totally gone, the motor and gearbox moves when u rev it,
because of the moving, will this cause the shifter hard to find gears and therefor crunch when changing and going down gears? just to add it doesnt crunch when not giving it hard.

yeah dude, you are pretty spot on there. thats the first thing that i would be changing. fix that mount up and you will probably find that the gear changes are much better.
if that fails, id be looking towards worn out clutch

its pretty much when u change from 2nd to 3rd, or when u go down from 3rd to 2nd.
it may be sygromes someone mentioned, but i had a look at his gearbox mount and it was ggggggooonnnneee. lol
so my bet was to change the gearbox mount first cause it only happens when u give it.
thanks for the info guys
does these gearboxes have these kind of problems

sounds fair.. the time to drop the box out of the car would be the most significat part.
