Just sort of wondering if the 22RE engine is rev limited? its a fairly new engine, so im not keen to put my foot flat in nuetral and stare at the tacho. so if anyone has tryed it or knows can u please tell me? just curious because most of the efi engines... well u know..

don't quote me, but im pretty sure it has no rev limiter as such.

Definately no limiter redline is 5.8krpm, i err accidentally hit 6.4krpm rpm for a split second in a paddock, nope definately no limiter there. Razz

Rev limiters are part of the ecu, as for it you should be able to ascertain rough idea of revs by the sound of the car anyway and a 22re hitting above 5.8krpm really isn't too keen.

Question is why are you revving the car in neutral, if you're gonna launch it fast or for wheelspin you only want about 3-3.5krpm any how, as this is the beefiest part of the torque band.

Why not get a small aftermarket tacho with a shift light, and set it at say 5krpm, i wouldn't want to be bouncing a 22re of 5.8rpm any how. It'll have substantially less pull there than at 4-5krpm anyway.

theirs no point in having one anyway because the power drops off after about 5 grand anyway so u never have to rev passed that

Very true looking at my dyno graph and doing some calcs for it (speed to rpm) they backed off at about 4.2krpm, peak power (63.2rwkw) around 4.1krpm. Wink
