heat proof materials Sun, 20 November 2005 09:36 Go to next message
my turbo oil drain sits right on the manifold it probly has 5mm of space it can move off it, i dont know if braided will even withstand the heat, so im after a material that will stop the heat but not get too hot its self and melt the hose anyway or my other option is to extend the fitting down further so the hose is away from the manifold, i hear those pizza delivery guys pizza bag thingos work well but what are the chances of getting one ahha so any ideas would be good

move the hose away.
you have radiated and conducted heat to worry about.. better to have a couple of radiation shields and air gaps, as opposed to sayy, ceramic fibre filling the gap.

distance is your friend when it comes to heat..
