Guys, with much sorrow i report htat at 3:00 yesterday on the coast road, some dumb bitch pulledo ut in front of me...(3 days after getting the GZE finished and licneced) and the ra40 GT coupe is no longer. My insurance hadnt been finalised yet, but it has been deemed her fault, with whitnesses etc. So from here i dont know...just get another shell and do it again..coz i love the car...and help in finding another straight RA40 coupe (gen2 square headlights) would be much appriciated, in perth. Thanks guys, its been a good run but this had shaken the boat for a bit and the claim could take a while. The chik that pulled out in front of me is in hospital with broken arms, shattered wrists and hands, fucked head, she had no seatbelt and slapped the windscreen. So its gonna be a slow process. That's fucken terrible, such a nice car
Might be harsh but that chick is obvisouly not too bright, no seat belt and pulled out in front of a car 
Hopefully insurance comes through and if you choose to can start again. Insurance doens't cover time and effort though does it

That's kinda sad. Can't say I'm a fan of the model, but that is a fine example... or was rather.
You think this chick's a bad driver or just unlucky?
Although, with the part about not wearing a seatbelt I'd be inclined to beleive the former.  Bloody bad drivers. Then those same bad drivers get cross at people for breaking the speed limit.

Dude, that sucks the massive dong. Hopefully they give you all the money back that's required to do it again, or have it done for you. That really sucks.

rx793: did you have your own insurance? if so, then the fact that she doesn't have insurance is a problem between your insurer and her and nothing to do with you. If you don't have comprehensive insurance then that sucks bigtime.
Nice car, shame to see an RA40 bent so badly
I hope they let you get the wreck back so you can re-use some of the good bits left with the car?

i remember this car being built up slowly, in much the same way as i done mine, at the same time too

This is why i yell at my girlfriend for taking a couple of streets to put her seatbelt on. All it takes is one moment and you are fucked.

Damn... I understand about stupid drivers, i had one go through a red light and take out part of my front end. Fortuantly its was salvagable with a couple of replacement pannels!
I only saw this car in person a week ago too!!! Did the cops yellow sticker it after the crash? Is it even driveable?

But as others have said, atleast you are ok, it could be worse. Imagine if you were hurt and were in hospital in the bed next to the other driver, shed probably be bitching that it was your fault yada yada yada ......

Steve,  I am in shock... I watched in some awe as you built this car from the original 2 fairly rough bitzers and the 18r became the r-g and then onward to the GZE..Hope it all works out..Good luck mate..I have a 1st Gen RA40 Coupe here in Sydney but the freight would kill the transfer to WA..Hopefully someone(Clint? Stepho? the guys from here and the Classiccelica yahoo group ) will have/know of a good one to enable you to do the swap and get you mobile again..

Damn.. so sorry to see that I couldn't image how frustrated you would be right now.
My brother drives a grey ra40 (except a liftback) and that car is tough as! That car has written off 1x car already and done $3k + damage to two other cars! And its still going.. bumper bars are a bit warped, but still pretty straight

Heh heh don't forget the MA61. 45ish km/h MA61 vs Magna, Magna was written off, driver had massive bump on head from hitting the side window and my car only had superficial damage really. 
But yeah, sorry to see your predicament Steve. I hope it all turns out good for you. Things do have a habit of turning out for the best though Good luck.
