no spark for my 4agze.

the other day i was driving to tafe and my started mucking up. first the spark started to break down the more i applied the accelerator. then the car died. after this i discovered it had no spark. i've check the wires to the coils and it has the 12 volt supply and signal. i then put my spare set of coils and leads on but there was still no spark. also i noticed that my engine check light doesn't come on when the reds are on. but i'm dont no if its ment to. i also changed the crank angle sensor. does any one have any idea wat wrong cause im stumbed.
