diagnostic codes 12,24 Tue, 29 November 2005 07:57 Go to next message
hi guys,
i ran the test and these codes popped up, i have searched and found that
code 12 is something got to do with the rpm signal
• No G or NE signal present for 2 seconds during cranking
• Open G circuit

and code 24 is no signal from air intake sensor.

Would anyone know how to fix these??
its an AFM 4agze

does the car run? the 12 could mean that you have wired it wrong, and thus would not fire properly due to no power when the starter fires.

and the 24 sorta means that the you got an issue with your air intake.

yep it runs, but bogs really bad under 3000rpm. tryin to fix this problem by starting with the diagnostic codes.
so theres a problem with the AFM?

sometimes when i turn the key to start the car, there's like a 2 sec silence then the car starts would this be related to code 12?

"RPM SIGNAL-NO SIGNAL TO ECU FROM DISTRIBUTOR ("Ne" OR "G") AFTER ENGINE HAS BEEN CRANKED"

Check
--DISTRIBUTOR/CIRCUIT
--STARTERSIGNAL CIRCUIT
--IGNITER/IGNITER CIRCUIT
--ECU

Going by that, the ecu doesnt know how fast the engine is spinning. I'm suprised it even runs - really it shouldnt. Limp mode must be quite well coded.
