WTB: Celica ST162SX Series 2 [Sydney] Wed, 30 November 2005 11:40 Go to next message
Hi guys,

Still searching for a good ST162 Celica SX series 2, i'm willing to pay to $4,500 for the right one. If you have one you would like to sell, please let me know. The best way to get me is via email:

Email: chopin.ku@reed-elsevier.com.au

I would prefer one that matches the following:

White and black exterior colour
Black interior
Sunroof
5 speed manual
working Air-con

If a white-Lightning shows up, please let me know, as i'm really interested in those and we can perhaps negotiate a better price for a well kept White-lightning.

Thanks for reading this, my hunt continues ... Evil or Very Mad

Cheers,
Chopin

It doesn't have to be in top condition, as long as the engine is healthy and body acceptable.

I dont want any mods too, so 4500 isnt a low offering price, theres ones out there with ok condition going around for 2500. But i want to pay up to 4500 and see what i can get.

These celicas are nearly in there 20s and have done 200+ Kms, unless well looked after, its really not worth the price over $5000.

remember i'm looking for a stocky non-modified one, my only prefs is what i stated on the top. But those are prefs, not a requirement

Cheers,
Chopin

A white lightning have a slightly different colour coding, the seats are also GT4 copies but in cloth. Sunroof comes as standard i think. You also get the whitelightning rims which = stock SX rims but white. Cruise control is an optional oh and the interior is always Black unlike the others that can be either Brown, Blue or Black.

Basically the whitelighning is the top of the range for ST162.

The White Lightning ST162 was a cosmetic thing with no mechanical mods at all. Basically some stickers and all white paint job including colour coded wheels, mirrors etc, with a few options thrown in as well such as the GT4 sports seats & sunroof. I understand that only the auto White Lightning's came with cruise control.

The White Lightning was sold in '89, when the ST162 was about to be replaced by the ST184 (5th gen), so it was one of those end-of-model special editions to keep interest alive before the new model hit. I believe there were 200 made, not entirely certain. Toyota did the end-of-model-special-edition thing again with the 5th gen (ST184) in 1993 with the WRC Trophy Celica, with the 1994 ST204 just around the corner.

Since they were fully loaded with just about every option, I guess they are regarded as the best of the 162s to buy. As long as you don't mind white!

Matt
