turbo sigma diff in a 86 questions Thu, 01 December 2005 03:21 Go to next message
o.k mate wanted a disc brake diff for the 86 found out st142 ? fitted so we rang wreckers and found 1 put it in and got a new centre bearing fitted buy mechanic and he looked at the diff and told us that the diff is a turbo sigma diff is this possiable

Well, if they're both Borgwarner crap, then yes, it is possible. ST141 Corona had a Borgwarner rear end. Early Sigmas were built in Aus, so possibly a similar rear end in those too. While they look similar they won't be exactly the same. Maybe your mechanic doesn't know a Toyota Corona diff by sight but knows a bit about turbo Sigmas?

not all sigma diffs are BW. Some are salsbury. Does it bolt in from the front or rear? Any pics?

i'm prety sure the tubo ones are salisbury, and rare as shit, sellit to a sigma boy, make money and get a really good diff

Can you please put up some pics or email me some pics at jzpowahz@gmail.com. Can you measure the circumference of the mounting plate as well? Trying to see if it is the same as my pajero/l300 diff.
