yep - tho the noise is significantly quieter when you disable the SHOUTING key.

If you want useful help on photoshop - go to a decent book store and get a visual guide for the version of photoshop you have.

Find a Border or Dymocks bookstore and spend half-an-hour going thru the photoshop tutorial books and see if they cover the kinds of things you want to do (no point learning about pre-press stuff or other high-end bits that you'll never use - so it makes sense to buy a book that you'll use regularly).

It's a high-end application that really needs decent tutoring and practice - neither of which you'll get from 60 words posts on a forum. It's a work tool for me (i'm a production coordinator in a publishing group) so my staff who use it have all had >3yrs uni experience at graphic design/commercial art and that's were they were trained in it).

If you just want to tweak/resize the occaisional photo, get Paintshop Pro - it has (or used to have) handy wizards/online help to walk you thru simple tasks. Photoshop's tutorials are useless without Adobe's tutoring books - which also cost a small fortune.

If you just have a basic question (e.g. how do i resize something and resave it as a new JPEG) then post the question - there's a few people here who use Pshop.

you should give adobe illustrator a go, it's more drawing oriented than photoshop. combine the two programs and it's great fun....
