Drift's MA70... Now with New Rims!! Sat, 26 February 2005 03:06 Go to next message
UPDATE:New Rims Further Down

Hey All,

Well I have been a member for a while, so I thought it was about time to post up some happy snaps of my car.

The car has just come back from the painters after I updated the front bar/lights to the newer shape.

The car started out its life as an Australian delivered MA70 with the wonderful 7MGE (Surprised), but has since been converted to to a 1JZ powered beast using a JZA70-R front cut.

Lumpy on this forum is the man to thank for the awesome conversion, which he did when he owned the car.

Car came with the following,

- 1JZ-GTE Conversion
- R154 Gearbox
- Blitz Access ECU
- 2.5" exhaust
- HKS BOV (NOW REMOVED)
- Strut brace
- Autometer boost gauge

Since owning the car I have done a few more changes,

- Work VS_XX 17x8 & 17x9
- Momo leather wheel
- Greddy Shift Knob
- Tein HA coilovers
- Upgraded the front to 89+ spec
- RDA Slotted rotors and new pads (EBC Green)
- Alpine Deck + speakers

Parts still to go in that I have sitting at home

- Custom dump pipes
- D1 SAFC II (test fitted in photo)
- 4.11 Torsen Diff

Anyway enjoy Smile.

Rob.

Cheers thanks for the comments, yep I think it is working out well.

Next also I will be updating the rear lights, as soon as I sort out what to do about the moulding differences.

I also have a custom JZA70 style rear spoiler than will replace the current one some time in the future.

i like!!, and that colour is growing on me!

i was gonna suggest updating the rear end, lights and spoiler, but it looks like your already on to that idea.

have you had it dyno'd or down the 1/4 yet? has the last owner?

Good Luck.

-Todd.

It is lacking on power at the moment due to it running to rich (safc II will fix this), and the exhaust is restricted due to factory dumps but mainly the stock N/A cat.

Last dyno tune only yielded 142.6 RWKW Sad

AFR range from 13.7 @ 58rwkw down to a very rich 10.0 @ 140rwkw Shocked

It certainly has gone to a good home! Smile

Well done Rob, it's nice to see the car's potential being realised with the new front end and overall tidy-up. Cool

Pics of car with new rims.. old ones were a bit to bling for my liking.

The new rims are WORK VS XX 17x8 and 17x9

Special thanks to MR 1JZ for supplying the rims.

I am very happy with the outcome Smile

Nup car not for drift.. just a street car with maybe some track work in the future.

The rear of the car is not to my liking so I avoid taking pics of it... one part of the car I don't like. It is the old style and the mouldings are in bad condition.

I have all the updated mouldings, updated rear spoiler, and rear lights from a JZA70, but just need to get the time and money to get them painted.

p.s. I will lower it a few mm just for you Matt Razz

Very nice....

Any engine bay pics???

I thought about putting my SACF-II there too, but saying as I had a matching AVC-R I decided to pop it above the glovebox, the fit seemes too good to be coincidence! (see "my cars" thread)
