how much room under 17" wheels?

hey guys, just trying to find a suitable rotor for my brake conversion, and it turns out i can't get the peugot rotors blank. so i'm looking for an alternative, but i'd like to know how much room i have to play with under 17" wheels, in terms of caliper clearance etc... so basically the internal diameter of the wheels, on average...

not legally... might be able to find an engineer who'll turn a blind eye, but i'm not interested in doing it that way.

interesting... every engineer I've talked to has said that it's perfectly safe as long as you maintain a decent amount of meat between holes... so 4 stud->4 stud, 5->4, 4->5 is ok, but not 5->5

280mm discs and RX7 calipers JUST fit under my 15s. So extrapolating I'd guess you could fit up to 330mm discs under your 17s.
However it will vary a bit with the caliper design and wheel design, so I'd say that's a rough guide.

297mm rotors and skyline calipers just fit under 15s on my corolla. When I say just, I don't really think you could get much more just than these

hmmmm well i've got hilux calipers... so i'd imagine they'd be bulkier...
