engine weights Thu, 08 December 2005 00:06 Go to next message
I was just wondering if anyone knew how much an 18R (is that right?) engine from a 72 celica weighed compared to a 4AGE engine because apparently the celica engine is a lot heavier, which made me wonder how much my celica would weigh now with the 4AG.

Why wonder when you can just take it to a weigh bridge!

Why take it to a way bridge when somone knows how much it weighs?
But can you just pull in to a weigh bridge an they'll happily weigh your car? I thoght theyd think you were a dickhead and tell you to shove off.

Drive to the Buderim dump and they will weigh your car. They did mine and didn't care Smile

Because that's the only way for sure you'll know how much your car weighs. Between dodgy manufacturer weights, and second hand info on engine weights, you got buckleys of finding it's real weight Very Happy

Do a search for "public weighbridge" in your postcode. Start calling sites, and in your nicest voice, ask how much to weigh your car, and what time would be most convenient for them.... Very Happy

Of course, that only helps if you weighed your car pre-transplant at the same weighbridge...

p.s. ask what resolution/sensitivity their scales are. Some are only accurate to +-50kg
