Springs from ST165 in a ST162 Tue, 06 December 2005 13:36 Go to next message
This has been covered once in a small amount but wasn't specific enough in this application

I'm gettin springs to put in a st162 from a st165, how would it change the driving by using the 165 ones as a pose to actually gettin ones suited for st162?
Would they sit higher by much?

i've often seen one's from a 165 and wondered if they'd fit a 162?

front ones will fit for sure...but will sit alot higher and handle like shit..the st 165 struts were designed to hold over 3OO kilos more of gearbox and drivetrain than the 162 ones were...the rear ones im unsure of...im actually trying to find out if i can use a 162 rear wheel bearing in my 165...or a 185 bearing...my rear left is on its way out Sad

i put gt4 springs in the front of my celica, because my stock ones were cut and were scraping....
But the front sits up A LOT, it looks like a bit of a grasshopper, and it doesnt handle very well at all, i have quite a bit more body roll when exiting a corner.
