Anybody have a rough price for an 18R-G with efi?
Oh, and some hp and torq specs would also be nice, thanks.

18RGEU (18RG with EFI and emissions stuff) would cost around $1000, well this is about price I have seen them.

I've just found out about an 18R-GE with 16 valves but I can't find this particular type for sale anywhere. Has anybody got any statistics on the raw hp at flywheel that this engine does? I'm sure its a fair bit over the 145 that the other 18r-g's can do.

I was actually thinking about dropping in the 20v 4age, it puts out about 160hp and 120nm of torque.
I'm just wondering how much this would cost to do?

if this is still the ra65 the consensus is DONT do it, no 4age is going to be able to pull that sort of weight up hills etc.

you are going to need something with torque stick with the 22re or go a 18rg they are awesome

Ok, celicamad, u've convinced me.
Due to my budget i'll go with the 18r-ge.
I'm just a little worried because 140 hp at the flywheel isn't really that great a figure. I was hoping to be able to pull about 100kw atw or about 133hp atw. I guess with a good exhaust kit and with proper tuning this figure is acheivable, so yeah, i'll go with the 18r-ge.

I'm mainly concerned with this engine because it is quite old.
Thats my only gripe with it, everything else seems to be pretty good though Very Happy

well what did u expect dude? that you could buy a cheap N/A engine that'll put out almost as much Kw at the wheels as a 1UZ or early 1G-GTE?

*sigh*

ehhe, no.
I can actually afford a 1g-ge but putting it into the car would be the problem. Because teh 18r-ge is practicly a drop in, thats why i'm getting it.
It runs, its better than the 22r-e, and it's pretty cheap, suits me perfectly.
