2 more GZE wiring Q's

1. My fuel pumps wont prime when i switch the ign on, the efi main and fuel pump relay switch on, the pumps will then switch on as i crank the engine which will start a bit rough until fuel pressure catches up.
2. What turns on the thermo fan, i've found the wire that will switch the relay on, should this wire be connected to one of the sensors on the motor or does the ECU switch it on?
Any ideas?
Vic.

the fuel pump only works when crankin or when engine is runnin so thats normal
theres a sensor on the thermostat housing above the gbox, when u unplug that sensor with the ignition on the thermo should turn on, if it doesnt then its not wired up correctly, that wire goes to the fuse box

The fuel pump should trigger when the ign is turned on. Just a thought but have you got the trigger wire running from the right place ie switch power? When the ign is turned on the pump should start for a few seconds to prime, then it will shut off untill you start the car.

The trigger wire for the efi and fuel pump relay (same wire) is connected to the ign position at the key is this correct, is there another wire that i might have missed?

the fuel pumps will not prime when ign is turned on
only when cranking and engine is runnin
there is a gren/red trace wire which runs from air flow or from ecu if its map sensored and that triggers the circuit opening relay when u crank or engine has rpm

The circuit opening relay is working, if the engine stalls it will turn the pumps off. If the pumps aren't supposed to prime why does the engine run rough when ever it is started especially when left over night?

maybe the fuel pressure drops due to bad one way valve in fuel pump
or maybe the engine is old and the sensors are slow
but thats how toyotas are
they dont prime the fuel b4 engine startin
fuel pressure only takes a split second to come up so by the time the fuel pressure is up yr engine is just bout to start
if the engine runs rough for longer than a second which fuel pressure would be up by then
then the problem is something else
maybe it is temp related
like when u leave car over night its nivce n cold in the mornin

sideshow and RSSTi
I have exactly the same problem and have had for many years (at least 4). Is there a way to check the one way valve in the fuel pump?
My car doesnt have to be cold to experience the problem. It only has to sit for 20 minutes or so after running and then its hard to start and stumbles for a while after going.
Thanks,
Denis
