Its funny when we get on the news over there. To a lot of Sydney people Perth is like a foreign country
The "riots" as you put them could have been the student demonstrations against the war. Thats all I can think of.

They have, except they have to import it from the eastern states cause they havent figured out how to get it from the kite into the houses

Just got a mate who had been travelling Europe and Canada for 3 months, he stopped off in Sydney for a few days on the way home.
First thing he said "Okay place, when you're in the city it smells though".
He'd been to a heap of major cities around the world and came to the conclusion that Sydney smells

He obviously hasn't had a whiff of LA air... Or been to Paris...
Understandable, though, if he spent his time in Campbelltwon or Penrith.... hehe

Actually, he was in LA a few days before, I just don't think he expected it in Sydney too.

personally i dont think you could find a better place than perth!
not so small that you dont get anything
not too big so that you have to travel large distances and get lost!
plus we get good weather and WA has heaps of resources, i think WA should become a seperate country so we keep all the money we make to ourselves!!!

I would say Perth or Brisbane would be my two favourite places to live in Australia
Granted i have never been to Tasmania, or stayed more than a couple of days in Adelaide or Melbourne.
But out of Brisbane and Perth i'd probably choose Brisbane, but only because i lived there for 10 years and all my mates are still back there.
But if i wasnt biased i'd say Perth would win hands down.
BTW when i was last in Sydney(18 months ago) i didnt notice a smell...maybe its because i was born there?

Sydney was having a slow news week and needed something to jazz up A Current Affair. We had 3 18th - 21st birthday parties in close sucession over here, and some 50 to 100 gate-crashers invited themselves along, to each one, and usually the same gang bang boys rocked up to each. The real party people call the cops, the gate-crashes turn on the Police, looking for a punch-up and a bit of bottle-tossing target practice, 50 points a pig.
Suddenly you have "Riots in Perth" screaming out at you from the TV. Its nothing more than what happens in Redfern every weekend over there......
Cheers,
Mitch.
Perth.
