Does anyone have Air/Con on an 18RG Sat, 15 March 2003 11:27 Go to next message
Hi guys,
(and Gals)
I am hoping that there is someone out there that has Air Con on and 18RG engine. What I am interested in is where the compressor goes and what the bracket looks like. If someones does have this set up could you please take a picture of it so I can see what I have to get. Or what sort of a bracket I need to get made up for me.

thanks

I have a bracket, but no compressor. It bolts to the cylinder head on the exhaust side.

I have the 18r-c compressor. I don't see any reason why I can't use this. If there is a problem with this can soemone tell me what it is. I can always get the brackets modified.

The 18R-C compressor is not at all compatible with the 18R-G bracket (I've tried it). Of course if you want to get the bracket modified anything is possible.

It should fit (the 18R-C compressor that is).

Those extended mounting points (in THE WITZL's pics) look very much like the one on a compressor i got from the Toyota section at ABC wreckers (oxley) - and my dead compressor (leaking front seal).

You might have to find different shaped/pointing connections as the 18RC ones are setup for pipes coming from two directions?

Can some one that has one of these compressors tell me what model number or part number that it is. Is there some sort of code on it. I might be able to find another one that will fit. It looks similar to one that is on a cressida.

thanks
