For those that havent worked it out, you can set/upload your Avatar under your Profile settings.
In the "Avatar Type" dropdown list select either "Upload Avatar" or "Specify URL". The page should refresh and you will see a new field below it called "Custom Avatar URL" or "Custom Avatar File" if you selected Upload. There's another image field above called "Image (URL)" - don't stick it there, that's for your car or mugshot or cat or whatever.

 Go to your profile, the link is on the top of the page.
Set Avatar Type to Upload Avatar.
Then click on the browse button and choose your JPEG file.
Type in your password and click on Update.
Then wait for one of the admins to approve your avatar.

mr_messy, just follow the steps that I outlined above. You don't need to send anyone your avatar, you simply upload it onto the ToyMods server by following those steps.

Guys, you don't need to put a test post in here to check your Avatar - once accepted, it should be visible on any of your older posts as well.

It's basically caused by the Avatar and other info in the left hand column - that's what determines the vertical size of the text frame.
It you think it's bad for you then you should see the admin login... it's got extra stuff in there which makes the problem even worse.
