stick your head under the front of the car, reach up in front of the radiator, find the bonnet release cable (in its black outer housing), grab and yank.
pop
done
then figure out what happened to it

ive done that. i removed the grille and popped the relase switch. the cable was attached at both ends (interior and at the front of the car) and when i pull the cable it also appears to be in one piece. i seems as tho the cable itself has stretched?? i know... i was like wtf.
to get to the cable i need to remove the side panel and im not too keen on doin that.
whats the opinion, take it to a pro?

so the cable hasnt snapped, its just stretched?
are the ends of the cable housing seated properly? if one ends come loose, the cable will not pull tension. ive seen this happen once at the bonnet latch end of the cable...simply slid out of its anchor point.
you could also try and whack some simple spacer(s) between the cable end and its anchor to preload the cable a bit and take out the slack.
but you gotta ask why it suddenly stretched.

This happened to the boot release in kevz0r's Supra wreck. Do what ed said, make sure its properly connected in all the right spots so it has enough tension. Luckily I'd already stripped the car of all its panels to it was pretty easy

They might be able to help, I doubt it. They'll charge you a bundle for the privelege anyway...well, most of them will.
