Hi fellas,
An avid KE rolla fan here, recently bought a very descent KE11 corolla.
just wondering what toyota performance engines would be compatible with such a car... haven't had much to do with conversions, but i got the money and time now, so yeh... dont hold back!!!

how fast do you want to go??
how much engineering do you want to do??
a streetable 4K engine could be around 110-120hp (mine has about 105 before the injection goes on).
5K about the same
4K/5K turbo...up to around 180hp
4AG, stock 135hp.
4AGZE, stock 160hp up to around 220?? not sure
4AGTE, up to around 260ish???
you can a nice quick little car with a well worked 4K, as they are pretty revvy... but only to about 8000-8500rpm.
and you probably won't need an engineers cert (put KE70 brakes tho)
the 4AG is a nice engine, but parts are more $$, they are nicer to rev than the 4K, but don't rev any faster..
the big problem with the KE10's is the lack of weight and then trying to get traction.
how about the 4EFTE??? you'd need a custom bellhousing tho..

4AG turbo is a great choice if you want some grunt (hopefully mine will show ~400hp soonish), BUT I really don't know about it in a ke10. A rebuilt and tricked up NA 4ag would probably be my choice, maybe a 20 valve.
