ok i'll try and answer some of your questions...

-the breather pipe is your rocker cover ventilation pipe, this is usually connected to the inlet pipe(seen just below the pipe in the pic) or any inlet piping before the airflow meter. you possibly could connect in to the plenuum without too much harm (just that the computer won't know theres a bit extra air going in). Warning: This definately should not be blocked-up!! its not entirely legal but is ok for the engine to have it venting to the atmosphere, use a filter on it to stop oil leaking out.
-yep thats the throttle positioning sensor, you aren't suppose to play with it! you can take the cover off it to see when the contacts move to set the idle.
-thats where i want a BOV installed on my engine Razz .
-thats the idle adjustment screw, screw this to adjust the idle. hehe.
-the screw with the spring doesn't do much, not entirely sure what it was for, i usually see the two vacuum connections looped.

For the rocker cover breather, I would recommend you run it to an oil catch can, or put filter a on it. You definitely don't want to use the standard setup, you wouldn't believe the amount of crap it feeds through your turbo. Can't help with the rest, in a different country to my car at the moment, doesn't help that it is in pieces anyway.

it seems to be running way rich, how the hell do you adjust the air to fuel ratio? the smell is something nasty, its either the smell of very rich running or the smell of the shit coming out of that breather.. specially when the BOV is going off quite often..

The other thing is, now its devoloped some sorta whistle or tinkling sound when you take your foot off the accelerator at say 5000rpm, but doesnt do it or not audible at much lower..
seems to have only happened when i had the intake piping off to reconnect the breather.. it was forced closed as in crimped.. so i cut the end off to open it again, filed it made sure not shit was around that could get back into the engine, put it back on and this noise has come up, breather is still disconnected(but has a K&N! hehe, on the cam cover to vent blow-by) im thinking the noise is possibly detonation, but i doubt it. ONLY does it when you take your foot off the accelerator, never on acceleration, and only over about 4000rpm

AND, how hot should the cam cover get, the top peice, after just driving around town, you cant touch mine. Is that ok?

inferno: how can you hook up the breather BEFORE the air flow meter?? Usually the only thing before the AFM is your airbox/airfilter. The breather must be hooked up inbetween the airflow meter & turbo. If you hook it up after the turbo or to the plenum, you will pump boost pressure into the breather, pressurising your crankcase system, a BIG no no Crying or Very Sad you'll probably end up blowing out sump gaskets & the like. As Purplebeasty said, the best option is to fit a catch can, then you dont end up with the nasty oil mist from blow-by messing up your intake charge & reducing your detonation threshold (oil effectively reduces the octane rating of your air/fuel mixture)

and dont stress about not being able to touch the cam cover, its normal.

no no no, the breather is connected between teh AFM and turbo intake, not quite that silly hehe.. Just wondered about the temperature, because i think the fan clutch might be fucked and not fully binding.

GAH this engine is full of suprises! - now the blow off valve is opening at slightly above idle, if you hit the accelerator a wee bit, the BOV opens and starts sucking? air.. till it returns to idle again, the BOV is off a VR-4 and is designed to be replumbed, but i have it venting to atomisphere..this may be the sound im hearing at high revs..this seems to have only come along since the reattaching of the breather, increased vacume and the BOV is not up to it/fucked? it has no spring adjustment etc either.
