March Cruise- we're going for Broke! **UPDATE!**

When: Saturday, 29th March, 9:00 AM
Where: Hills Alliance Church Hall
524 Windsor Rd, Baulkham Hills
THE SAME PLACE WE HAVE OUR MONTHLY MEETINGS!
Destination: Up Puttey rd, BBQ lunch at Broke.
THIS IS GONNA BE A BIG (BUT REALLY GOOD!) ONE, AROUND 300KMS. GOOD PRACTICE FOR TOYOTA NATIONALS.
Now I'm really keen for this, I did a practice run of the route on friday, & had a fantastic day! There's some really nice roads along the way, mostly 100km/h speed limits, & some great scenery. I've updated the plans, we're no longer stopping at Howes Crk for lunch, we're going for Broke!Yes well, I figured it would be a bit more appropriate too. 
The revised plan:
9:00AM. Meet at the Hills Alliance Church, same place we meet for our monthly meetings (as above).
9:30AM. Start heading north up Windsor rd, to Windsor(!), where we make our first stop. Follow Windsor rd straight through a set of lights & just after a bridge is Macquarie Park on the LEFT.
10:00AM. We meet up with a few more people here, and can also regroup before we hit Putty rd.
10:15AM. Leave Macquarie Park, continue north up Wilberforce rd which becomes Putty rd. Pending traffic conditions, there are quite a few large sized truck stops along the way, so if a regroup is necessary it won't be too hard. Otherwise we continue along until...
11:50AM. there's a halfway house/small petrol station about 15mins after we pass Putty Valley rd, we'll stop here for a regroup & a quick bite if needed. We don't wanna hang 'round too long here though.
12:00PM. Continue north. There's some road works going on along here, hopefully we won't get help up at all. If we time it right we'll pass them when everyone's knocked off for lunch.
Keep an eye out for road on the right, it's the only one & we should hit it around
12:30PM. After about 15-20 minutes along this road we reach Broke.
The area we're stopping for lunch is down a narrow & slightly bumpy gravel road, just before the T intersection at the end of this rd. Theres a really nice lunch are with toilets & bins & plenty of shade & we should also have our own BBQ, with sausage sandwiches & cans of soft drink for sale. We'll try to head off around
2:00PM. Head east along Broke rd into the Lower Hunter Valley. When we get to a T intersection we go RIGHT, and follow this road down into Cessnock.
2:30PM. We get to another T intersection & turn LEFT, then after about 1-2mins we turn right at an intersection with 2 big old pubs, & head up the main st of Cessnock! 
There's a couple of petrol stations we can stop at, I'm pretty sure none of them had any 98 octane good stuff, so fill up at the start if you need it. I did it with just over half a tank.
3:00PM. Say goodbye to Cessnock, & simply follow the signs to the F1 and Sydney. We should be back in local territory by 4:30- 5 o'clock.
Once we get to the end of the freeway, follow Pennant Hills rd south to everyones favorite location for dinner- Thornleigh Maccas!
I will endeavor to supply maps on the day, & will hopefully be able to hand out written directions too. The usual channel 16 on the CBs, & don't forget your cameras!
If anyone has any questions or suggestions, please speak up.

But anyway, providing this doesn't conflict with anything on the Rally calendar, I'm definitely going to try and make it. Has been a long while since I've been out for a good drive with any of you guys!

Finally got my car started and out of the garage thanks to friends and family after its HKS head gasket, ARP stud, NA Cam, head machined nightmare!
The engine fired up on the 3rd turn of the key and ran surprisingly smoothly - a few slightly loose belts and a couple of water leaks but otherwise.... Lovely
I have to get it blue slipped, insured, and registered but i'm gonna damn well try and go on this cruise!

or i could just sit on the side of the road at 10:00 but that day is my 21st so i dont know if ill come i might just go and watch you all drive past like at a rally or something

disregard my previous post, i should be there no worries, motor is in and gearbox all bolted up with new clutch, all i have to do is wire it up put in all the fluids and install the surge tank and fuel pumps.

Just to let everyone know I've invited the guys from Datnet on this one, it should make it a bit different. We'll have to give them a taste of Toyota, & show them how well designed the back of toyotas are.
I'll be putting up an update soon after I do a recon run, keep an eye out.

I dunno about that, there's no BBQs there but a 3 burner gas BBQ we'll be bringing (hopefully) and that's gonna be covered in sausages for a fair amount of time I imagine.
Also I don't really want to encourage bringing your own food, I'll be pissed off if I get stuck driving around all day with a car full of sausages!

Sorry ppl... gonna have to be a negative on this one!
Just found out I can get the garage behind my place (as I was broken into last week, figured it'd be a good idea to get the girl under lock and key!), but gotta help the dude clear his stuff out on Sat (29th) morning!! God knows how long it will take..?
But on a positive... the Easter cruise/rally is looking good!

Like I've said, please make sure you fill up with petrol before you get to the first meeting point, it will make things a fair bit easier.
Don't forget your sunscreen, your CBs, cameras, plenty of CDs (or tapes), and all that other crap your mum will tell you, or would if she could.
