Can u guys PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE post or e-mail me as much info on the conversion as possible. I've searche these and many other forums for info and have got some, but a concise write up or first hand info would be greatly appreciated.
I'm especially after info on fitting the ZE gearbox and associated crossmember mods, and also fitting a vr4 I/C(if i've gotta cut out my front grill, etc).
So yeah, gimme all u got

Basically i used the existing ge gearbox and x-member mounts and ae82 x-member. The x-member mounts need to be repositioned to suit gze box. my x-mmeber is lower at the rear as it required a ~20mm spacer to occomodate the larger gze bellhousing. It clears my powersteering rack. As for exact measurements i cannot say, as it requires a lot of trial fitment and markings etc.
In terms of a VR4 intercooler, i presume u have a jap spec one.
Im not to sure as i havent got one. I would get the dimensions and see how much space u have behind the grille etc.
There is a fair bit of room. But don't expect to run air-con.

It has been top-mounted with no scoop for past 4 months.
Trying my best to drive sedately is difficult
Anyways, its in the process of a front mount as of today.

hey mate how r you i see you having the same dilemma as i. i also am contemplating the gze and looking around the net for all possible fitting pros and cons. it seems everyone i have spoken to has said it is an easier upgrade than the 20v. i am getting mine around may so i can have it all ready to install at work in june when my boss wil be on a rally as we wont have much work on so the perfect oppertunity. but if you havent done it by then i will tell you every thing needed to do it.
but r you gonna do it yourself or pay someone to do it. that will be the biggest decision
i will still look around and let you know but i read daniel's(rolla sx) conversion and he seemed to go pretty well.
as you i would much rather the front mountd i/c becasue of the fact you can re route the piping so it has no harsh bends in it. not just for looks.
