OK, need the following together or as it comes,

front engine parts, crank, oil pump and idler pulleys and front covers (both behind and in front of the pulleys) and the oil pump drive shaft.

Or a short/long motor with all this.

There is one at Pick n Payless but someone took to it with a hammer??? and smashed all the alloy bits.

Need ge bits as I have a rebuilt ge head, do you know if the oil pum drive shaft is the same from 5me to 5mge? as me just sticks out as its chain drive and the ge is sealed behind the cam belt.

OK heres what I need

1. Timing belt pulleys. full set.
2. Timing gear covers,
one behind pulleys onto engine
lower front cover (aluminium)
upper front cover (plastic)
3. Oil pump drive shaft (if different to me)

The rest are not necessary but I could finish a rebuild more completely before fitting with these,

1. 5MGE distributor.
2. Mid sump oil pump and sump.
3. Alternator, igititor/coil, inj resistor etc.

Thanks to all, if anyone knows of these in a wrecker even, let me know.

Justin

AGGH dude ! i just THREW OUT a mid sump and mid sump pick up oil pump!! DO'H!!

anyway...

5me bits pretty much dont work on 5mge

oil drive shaft is different from what i recall (5me has a chain sproket, ge belt sproket, and i think they attach differently)

cam covers are all different

fuel injectors are different, manifolds are different, dizzy is different, loom is different

maybe the clutch fan will fit, but water pumps are different. pullies are all different too. not sure about acc brakets

cheers
ed
