Soarer GT Limited/MA70-JZA70 Supra Question

Hi guys,
My reason for writing is that my car (90' Soarer MZ20 GT Limited) seems to have a sensor in the auto T-Bar that only lets you remove the key from the ignition when its set in park, and this sensor on my car appears to be broken; in other words I can't get the key out of my ignition full stop. Previously while the sensor seemed to be on its way out I was able to turn the car off and jiggle the T-Bar whilst in park and pull the key out, this doesn't work anymore! I beleive this sensor could possibly be used in the MA70/JZA70 Supra also as my Soarer is basically identical under the hood
If anyone knows ANYTHING about this sensor could you please let me know as i'm not sure exactly where it is, or if I can just disable it completely because at the moment I have to leave the key in the ignition set to accessories and take one of the leads off the battery so it doesn't run out.
Thanks for any advice in advance!
Dan

While under the dash last week, I found the mechanism that does this on my JZZ30 Soarer. There are 2 wires that lead about half way up the ignition barrel which performs the task of holding onto the key (and not letting go!). I imagine that if you disconnect those wires, it should let go of the key for you.
I've never done it before, but it is something to try.

were they on the left hand side of the barrel? I found two blue wires there going into a small relay box. Depending on how this box works i may have to either disconnect the wires completely, or join them together to complete the circuit depending on what has decided to stop working.
Thanks!

My dash is all back together now, but I'm pretty sure they are the right ones.

Thanks for the info!
I took your advice and found a little black motor (similar to the ones you find in those tiny little AA battery powered cars) in there behind the lock barrel, it has this tiny little piece of metal that the motor pushes in and out when they key is turned. In a nutshell... i undid the screws holding this little motor in, pulled it out and shoved it under the dash!
worked a treat. If anone else needs to know how to do it in the future i can take photos and stuff if needed.

i had the same problem in my ma70 supra, it's part of the gearbox computer that does it, not sure why, (supposed to prevent you stopping car in gears other than park), i guess some wire comes loose eventually and the computer thinks your still in gear.
