How much has it cost some of you to convert your 4AGE 20v to have intake trumpets with sock filters?
Got new job with plenty of cash to burn  and a 4afc that might have a serious problem in a few months

trd 1s are 100 each but they only fit the black top 1s

Not much. Pull the plenum off, ring finer filters and they should have the sock your after.

Depends, The very late model silvertop& balcktops run a map, early models have AFM, so you right, can't remove the plenumn, aftermarket ECU would be the only way.

A MAP sensored motor would be ok with no plenum, as the vacuum isn't in the plenum, it's on the other side of the throttle plates.
