	Hello all,

I just bought a 1990 seca sx and I believe the air con may need a re-gassing.

I don't know whether it has the new or old type of gas, I know this car was made about the time of the changeover.

So my question is, did this year car have the new or old type?

And a follow up question is, if it is the old type, how much should I expect to pay to change over to the new type, and get it regassed?

Alternatively, if it is the new type, how much should I expect to pay for a re-gas?

Thanks for any help

Originally came out with r12 gas - old

It may have been changed over already. To get it converted to r134a which is what all current cars come with, you would be looking at 250 - 300 mark including filter.

	Thanks for the info.

Can anyone recommend a workshop that does good work on air con systems?

I'd prefer a place around hornsby or somewhere else on the north shore, but I don't mind if it's elsewhere.

A dude at my work is a registered mechanic and he works with air conditioning and that...

I can find out a price for you if you want...

I work on the North Shore but I'm not to sure where he lives though... I'll find out though...

Bill Buckle Toyota in brookvale are good. All the mechanics have done an a/c course at tafe and at Toyota school.

I think the guy at my work will do it for $250 as long as the system is still ok and still works...

Thanks for finding that out Rolla Boy. The air-con might have to wait now though, I need to get the clutch replaced as my first proirity
