Hey dave, thanx for all the advice, but i can see the barrier and the $$$ involved due to many people shedding some light onthe situation.
The block is currently sitting at toyota with the pistons in the block. They are a tad carbonated and no, they aren't domed, flatop 12v.
So no pics just yet but ill get some asap.
Gotta sell this crap before it gets home and occupies more space!

Rebuilds aren't cheap, unless it's a Holden Red, Cleveland 351 or an 18R. Sorry it didn't work out.
What do you want for the complete 6MGE in bits? I may have someone who is interested.

Nah its fine, the mechanic i deal with at toyota is a legend, he has a twin turbo subaru outback and basically said dont bother with the M series unless u really really want to.
He said that i should find a perfect car first and use that rather than spending heaps on my shell, which is fair enough.
And to add fuel to the fire, a dude rocked up with a 1jz cressida, now that was awesome!
So im selling off the bits that i no longer need. But again thanks for the help until now!
Anyway to the engine, Does he want it reassembled?
It had been sitting for a while and thereare signs of this in the combustion chamber (bit of oxidisation)
The rings 'may' have gone on the pistons, but u can see the scraping in a few cylinders where something has been rubbing. Was informed a hone wont fix it, needs a bore.
The reason i bought the engine was to fix my crankshaft problem int he first place, so im taking the crank from this engine and swapping them. The other crank is fine, except the keyway will have to be welded, but needed to be done outside of the engine (thus the rebuild) - i think we talked about this ages ago!
if he wants everything inc injectors, leads etc (i have no idea if they work)$250

As much as it pains me to say this, your mechanic is correct. Good luck with the JZ project.
$250 is probably a bit much for a disassembled 6MGE needing a rebuild. I'll make a phone call and see what my friend is prepared to go to. Definitely would not want it reassembled, would just want all bits in a couple of boxes.

Wont work
U need a manifold to suit a turbo
technically they arent extractors as such.
U gotta wait to see if a HKS manifold comes up that suits a bigger turbo t04? Ask SUPRAGTE on this forum about that sorta thing.

Ahh cool
sorry for the hassle
i'm just really interested in known performance upgrades for the engine as i recently put in a metal gasket and ARP studs - hopeful to start playing with higher boost levels later on.
Should be fun!

Roseboy - sorry still no pic, all i can do is describe for now
black, press bent upper collectors 3 into 2 design. Lower half mandrel bent, 2.5 inch id say, ill double check that.
The ports have been 'ported' where the port had interference.
The ports are the same size internal diameter as the stock manifold.
Ed- 57mm at the outer edge, tapers down to approx 50mm at the butterfly.

Generally they should increase power and modify the torque curve.
Just wait to see if Ed will kick in with a response + they weigh less thant he standard manifold. haha

howdy
well if we can sort something out by Thursday, that'd be great, as I am getting an exhaust fitted to the car Tuesday and I'm really keen to get it all done at once.
So if you can get the estimate today, that'd be great. Then we can work out a fair cost for us both.
Thanks
