3k Twin Carbs on deluxe sedan Sun, 02 March 2003 05:45 Go to next message
hi all,

I have a ke30 corolla deluxe 4dr sedan built in nz
i am class racing at meremere dirt track and in scrutineering they pulled us up on the twin carbs not being an original fitment to this car, is there any evidence that may support that the car could have come out with the twins on, any help would be appreciated.

also do they really make that much differnce or will the single be just as competitive

yes, the 3K-B is evidence enough

i should be able to scan for you bits out of an original toyota manual showing the manifolding/carb setup FYi (if i can get the fuxing scanner working)

let me know if you want it.

My understanding is the 3K-B (in NZ anyway) was only available in the coupe, not the 4 door. What are your specific class requirements? They may be ok for a coupe but not for the 4 door. The twins only really show an advantage if they are PROPERLY tuned, and this means on a dyno.

PS - check out http://www.club-k.co.nz for some local knowledge on the k series motors.

EDIT - saw your post on toyspeed, they are probably right as the twin carbs were on the KE35 (which is the coupe body code).
